Shoshanna Katzman explains the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to balancing the Heart Energy. The Heart houses the Mind and therefore has a tremendous affect on one’s emotional state. Oftentimes the Heart which is associated with the Fire Element is imbalanced and produces too much Fire. This Fire can be resolved by balancing the energy of the Heart along with the Kidneys through the practice of simple Qigong exercises. Qigong is an ancient Chinese method of exercise to cultivate the vital energy of the body. It involves slow, gentle movements coordinated with the breath, self acupressure and massage, healing sounds, meditation and visualization. These easy to practice movements can be done by people of all ages and abilities. They enliven the flow of Qi throughout the body, mind and spirit as they restore proper balance and health. We are meant to be at peace, feel relaxed, and be in a flowing place with our emotions. Qigong exercises to calm your heart and pacify your spirit is a wonderful way to prod you into this desired state of being.
